Hurricane Eta Update 11.10.20
Dear Brothers and Sisters;
Glenda and I wanted to tell everyone that we are ok and the Mission House, all 14 schools we are serving, all our sponsored children, and communities we serve in the South and North before Hurricane Eta are fine and are NOT under water. Praise the Lord!!!!
However Eta did hit Honduras with a big punch with rain. That rain was not needed with already swollen rivers and lakes. This is because we have seen rain since May and has not stopped. Eta came in from Honduras’ southern border and flooded and destroyed many homes that were close to the rivers. It moved its way up and the outer bands hammered hard the North of Honduras. This caused massive flooding and destruction to crops, homes, vehicles and more. Thank God the death rate is low and was not like Hurricane Mitch that came in 1998. Glenda and I have been very active in communicating by cell phone with all the communities mentioned above to make sure they were ok. We then went into action and delivered 14 mattresses, food, clothing, shoes and sneakers with toothbrushes and soap. Praise the Lord we are able to haul two truck loads. On Thursday 11/12 at 7am we will be heading to the south with food, machetes, and hoes for the farmers who lost everything they own. The machetes and hoes will help the farmers to plant crops again and earn a living. We will do an assessment of the situation and figure out if we can help with mattresses and later on with seed to plant corn and kidney beans. Next week we will be heading North and helping out with food and then doing another assessment to see where we can volunteer to help out in any way we can. Please continue to keep us in prayer for these trips.Honduras is still in lock down for 8 months. Currently we have 100,508 infected with Covid-19 and with 2,751 deaths. The economic situation is bankrupt and people are begging for work, for food and for anything. These are some very tough times in Honduras. Please continue to pray for the people of Honduras.We are continuing to work and prepare for the 2021 school year and we will also be taking photos of our 48 12th grade graduates!! We will keep all of you informed with this as well. The construction is continuing and Praise the Lord we are advancing. As soon as we get some time to breathe I will be sending out newsletters to show how much we have advanced. Please if you want to check out photos and lots of videos please check out our Facebook page.
The Lord is so faithful and a blessing to many!!!Thank you for praying for us and loving us and the work we are doing in Honduras. We are deeply touched. Blessings and with our Love,
