Team #28 – Victory Highway Wesleyan – June 7-17, 2014
Victory Highway Team #28
by Michael J. Miller, Jr.
Team #28 from Victory Highway Wesleyan Church came June 6-14, 2014 led by Robin and Simeon Fitzmartin. Normally I would do reports on all that a team accomplishes but as I was looking at the photos that the team took I noticed a theme going on. That theme reminded me of Moses when he would talk to God as a friend. God would share what He wanted for His Israel nation and how he wanted change from His people. Exodus 33:11 “The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Josue son of Nun did not leave the tent.” After Jesus said it was finished on the Cross the curtain in the temple was torn into two and this meant that the Holy of Holies was open to those who were truly seeking God and wanted the full anointing from Him. This in fact allows us to share our faith through friendships, through the Holy Spirit and as a witness to the Gospel. As seen in the first two photos. These policemen did not just watch over the school and our team, they involved themselves with the team members in helping out with painting and wire tying. I looked at it as a witness of Jesus to these young policemen. The policemen were looking to learn English but I told the ladies and team to teach them English but by witnessing through the Gospel. The 3rd photo is a friendship built by the Holy Spirit and the both of us have been through some spiritual warfare because we continue to witness to the teams the manifestation of the Spirit and our love for Jesus. This was put to test when Amber slipped and fell at the work site. We believed she had dislocated her shoulder and possibly broke her forearm. We sent Amber with her parents and Glenda to our were Clinic. While they were gone, we started to pray. In a short version, after x-rays were taken the Doctor said there weren’t any fractures or broken bones. In fact the shoulder was put back into place. The Spirit confirmed there was a miracle. The Glory came and started to do His work on the team.
In the 4th and 5th photos is a witness of Sponsors meeting their sponsored children. It was a time to hear testimonies in how sometimes the children do not eat, they have the feeling of being alone, and some like to just close their hearts so they will not be hurt anymore. This is the case with our youth here in Honduras. In the 2nd photo on this page is Javier who overcame that loneliness and solitary feelings and came to Jesus Christ through our youth group. What I like about this photo is that he is sitting with his mom Maria in making a tutu loving his mom by spending time with her during the week of craft projects. Having a relationship cross culturally is very important in the eyes of the Lord in loving our neighbor as seen in the 3rd photo on this page. Oscar and Hanna are laying up block and laughing at each other in trying to communicate and to do it right. All of these friendships were building during the week to bring in the Glory of our Lord. See in the second part of the scripture says, “Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.” He didn’t leave because he prayed and waited for the answer to come from God through Moses. The last day at the job site was just that. An answer to prayer and waiting on the Lord. In the morning like always we prayed and started to sing songs. As Pastor Giron finished I broke out into another song and we worked off each other and then came the Glory. The Holy Spirit healed those who had heavy hearts, those who were lost, and those who needed to hear a prophesy. God united the team on the last day. This prepared the team for the saying of good bye from the children at the Santa Margarita School as seen in the last photo. As a team of Missionaries all we could do is say Amen! Thank you Jesus!
