Part #2

These mothers’ are washing the rice to remove any stones that may be in it from packaging. (top left photo) Top right photo shows a mother cutting carrots to put in the cooked rice for flavor. Many of the vegetables have been donated by local farmers.
It is amazing how these mothers can cook tortillas any where. They need to make 400 tortillas per day for the children and they use a flat griddle and electric stove to heat them. In the pot on the far right in the photo is cooking rice.

This was the first plate to be served. Behind this little girl there was her entire 5th grade class. Each grade is led to the kitchen when it is their turn. When they receive their plate of food they return to their class rooms and eat lunch there. We intend to purchase some tables and chairs so some of the children can eat inside the cafeteria. The older grades prefer to eat outside or away from the class room. We must admit we had tears welling up in our eyes seeing the faces of each child receiving food. We could only imagine what it must have felt like when the 5,000 received a miracle from our Lord Jesus. Each person was blessed by the nourishment from the food but more importantly knowing that their Father in Heaven cares so much about them that he provided for their needs. Just like these kids. Our Father is providing for them as well. The excitement has carried into the parents. One mother donated a scale to measure out how pounds of food they would need per meal.

The Venezuelan school tucked in a Barrio known as Rincon will be an example to many schools who have the same dream and as these new schools come and when their dream is accomplished they we turn and ask how did these women serve so many. I pray they will reply, We didn’t do the serving just for the children but for our Lord and when we serve Him, He gave us the knowledge to do such as this.

All of you are making change one school, one life at a time. Each of you can share in this experience as you walk with us in this ministry. Glenda and I like the barrios in Honduras we are thankful for your giving and love!
