Boys Youth Group Update 2010

We are always in awe and wonder with our Lord. One of the main reasons is how He can take the children from the worst situations and bless them with a time to relax, enjoy one another’s company, and to take in what has made by His hand. The photos below show how an awesome God as ours can provide clean water and beauty in a country that has been blanketed with dirty water and hardships. These boys know what hardships are. I remember one day sitting and just listening to the conversation the boys were having. This time it was different than the usual course joking and picking they do to each other. This time it was about family life and how they are tired of listening that they are no good to the family or to society. They also talked about how they are having a hard time getting along with their mothers and also just being listened too. I watched the faces of the other boys in how they were reacting. Most of them just shook their heads in agreement. I know they want to run away or turn their hearts to the streets and just continue through life with the thought they are not accepted by anyone or they are abandoned by love. One on the reasons we have these special youth groups is to exhort, love, listen, and bring the word of God to them.

Proverbs 12:14 “From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.”

I believe this is two fold. The boys are receiving words of encouragement the same encouragement that I received while growing up. This is the, “fruit of his lips”.

The second it that these boys fund raise for trips like this one and others they have already taken this year. (this is their 3rd trip) God has a purpose and a plan for these boys. They are currently praying that God would bless them with a trip to the Copan Ruins so they can experience the culture there. They are also are saving their tithe for the end of the year to bless 24 families with 5 gallon buckets filled with food. I big goal but possible.

This park is located 20 minutes from the Tamara prison. The water is pure and refreshing to swim in. The park is a privately owned park by a Christian man who allows only a few to come in and use. He allows us to use it because he likes what we are doing with them.

There are 6 different watering holes or cascades. (Left photo) Josue found this hole in the rock which joins with a cascade. Marvin in the right photo first started out bare footed to explore other cascades and found the temporary shoes because his feet were hurting. They are so funny!

It is amazing to visit places like this that are nestled in the woods and near a prison. There was nobody in the park just us, the Lord and fooooooooood!

The boys always thank you for your prayers and for lifting them up while their homes are in a mess. Please keep praying for: Bryan Colindres, Angel Ortiz, Jonatan Lopez, Juan Lopez, Ulises Lanza, Adalid Betanlo, Allan Ortiz, Olbin Contreros, Cristian Rivera, Yovani Alejadro, Yoel Gomez, Josue Gomez, Carlos Romero, and Marvin Londa.
