It is amazing that the word Truth and the lesson that I taught these young men has stuck in their minds. When we were talking and designing our shirts for 2010 they kept coming back to the theme of Truth. So they pulled out a photo that I printed for them this year that is seen on there shirts above. They wanted it in English so they could witness who is the Truth. It is also amazing that in the years past only Carlos was saved in Jesus. He is the young man on the far right standing with a smile. Carlos has been with us sense the beginning. This year we have had en explosion of youth being saved. We are now up to 8 of these youth are now in Christ Jesus! This year these young men have been going through a series of classes in finding out who they are and how they can relate to the Bible in Today’s problems. We are a family when theirs is broken. They have learned to laugh, cry and lean on each other. Pastor Giron said to Glenda, “I spoke to a youth of Michael’s and asked him a question and he quoted the scriptures to me.” Pastor Giron is all for what we do with these young men. It is very different and structured. These young men range in ages from 13 to 20 years old.

A scripture came to me while teaching this year:

Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces.”

What is the Truth? Pilate asked this question. My boys asked this question. I asked all of you when we were home this last time this question. Now the fire of Almighty God is breaking off the layers of hurt, abandonment, frustration, confusion, thoughts that the Bible can not relate to them and it is boring, and layers of not being loved to being loved and nurtured. The hammer has many definitions. I would like to think that hammer of Love is doing all that is needed to bring these young men into understanding and joy.

The boys wanted me to tell all of you thank you! Thank you for your prayers, love and especially for these shirts. They walk in pride throughout the Barrio and many have asked them what Truth is. They have answered JESUS! (on the back it says Amigos de la Frontera (BBM) youth group Barrio Rincon.)
