This year our boys have been working on how they can give back to their community and also how they can share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In June we sent to all of you a report in how these young men were cooking meals for the poor people in their community. Well they wanted to do more and after witnessing the Christian Academy School from Corning NY with their puppet show, it inspired them to do the same. However they needed puppets. So we prayed and the Lord heard their prayer. With the Penn Ave UMC team they brought a bag full of puppets and asked if we could use them. Oh you should have seen the expression on our boys face when they saw the bag of puppets. They went to work and practiced 3 times a week for 2 hours. They prepared their lines and memorized the story of Noah and the Ark. They built props, prepared sound effects (animals, door shutting, construction etc.) and coordinated the entire show. They showed this presentation to over 100 children and 4 classes during our Saturday youth group.

We are so proud of them in how they are taking the role of Disciples for Christ seriously. Our passion and desire is for them to witness Jesus Christ in their barrio to other youth even though they are being persecuted for making this change. The change they are making is walking away from smoking, drinking, drugs, and promising before God to maintain their virginity until marriage. This is against the culture. They want to hold each other accountable for their actions. This will usher in change and bring others to Christ.
