Patience and waiting is the theme with this group. On the far left is the mother of Cristian the young man who is living with us, who is a sponsored child, who is a part of our youth group and who also led his dad to Christ last fall. While we were visiting his mom and sister they both came to Christ and are now saved. Unfortunately the dad couldn’t be baptized because of work. Maria, Cristian’s mom wanted to be baptized and she has been waiting for years to make this change and to declare publically that she is a child of God. This is the talk that is being given to all 5 that were baptized and also to reinforce this commitment with the group as well. Jennifer Nicolle and her sister Adriana both sponsored since they were in 1st grade have ignored our invitations to receive Jesus Christ as their savior throughout the years. However during these last few weeks each one came to the School on Tuesday night after our Bible studies and accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and asked if they could be baptized into the faith and return to the girls youth group. Victor in the blues shirt when we received Jesus as his Savior in his church last year told his parents he wanted the missionary Michael to baptize him. The parents said you are not even a part of his youth group. Victor said, “I will be next year and I will work on becoming a leader like the rest. Well part of his claim came true this last Sunday as his parents stood by with joy and pride as their son was baptized. Emilio who also is sponsored by the ministry just entered the group and wanted to make a personal commitment with God to change his life. While we were baptizing we witnessed in how people who were near the river came to watch in silence. There were people sitting above on benches, others were sitting on the rocks on the banks of the river, and others actually got close to hear the Salvation message. They applauded with the group as each one came up out of the water.
